289 High Performance Mustang

After 3 years of owning the car (graduated college, started a new job, bought a new condo, etc) I'm finally ready to get this car into paint and assembly.  It's going back to the original special ordered Sapphire Blue (Thunderbird color).  February 3, 2008 I pulled her out of the shop where she's been tucked back into the corner and brought her out into the day light to load onto the trailer to be transported to the painters.  I'll continue to update this page as the paint process progresses.

Here she is after being taken of the shop with me and my dad. Last time she'll be looking like this!

Entry: June 8, 2010

Okay... so it's been just a little over two years since the above picture was taken.  Things didn't work out how I expected and the car didn't make much, if any, progress in that time.  In May 2010, the fastback was dropped off at Dick Knight's place (MCA Judge) to pick up where things had left off two years earlier.  The Mustang was put on a rotisserie and the last 6 weeks have been filled with body work, panel alignment, and spraying the engine compartment and the underside of the car red oxide.  Over the weekend of June 5-6, 2010 the body was finally spayed with Sapphire Blue.  The hard brake and gas lines are in place, the motor mounts, and part of the front suspension has been hung on the car.  We expect the car to be a rolling chassis in the next week or so. Finally some real progress is being made!
